Men's Swimming & Diving Rolls Past Rowan on Senior Day

EWING, N.J. – The No. 12 TCNJ men's swimming team honored its seniors and put the finishing touches on a two-day domination of Rowan on Saturday, polishing off a 239-76 rout with a flourish.
 
The Lions started the meet with a Senior Day ceremony honoring Ryan Heerema, Ryan Higgins, Shawn Kushner, Luke Leshnower Ryan VanDeVeen, Andrew Walter, Ethan Weiss, Michael Wu, and Kai Zola. They ended it with a second display of utter dominance in as many days.
 
Over the course of the two-day dual, the Lions won all but two of the 17 contested events and finished 1-2-3 in eight of them.
 
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
  • Gavin Formon cruised to victory in the 1000 free (9:37.41) and led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 500 free, clocking a 4:38.00 to edge Keilan Moran (4:40.22) and Dylan DeWitt (4:44.30); he was also 2nd in the 200 IM and 400 IM
  • Higgins won the 200 back (1:47.48), 200 IM (1:52.16), and 400 IM (3:59.74).
  • Andrew Kidchob edged out Higgins with a 49.68 in the 100 back and placed 2nd in the 200 back at 1:53.38, just ahead of Walter in third
  • VanDeVeen took first in both the 100 breast (55.71) and 200 breast (2:02.32); in the 100, McGeehan was second in the 100 and third in the 200, while Kushner was third in the 100 and second in the 200
  • M.J. Hoban won the 100 free in 46.51 and placed second in the 50 free with a mark of 20.67
  • Moran grabbed victory in the 200 free at 1:41.38, followed by Steven Bendoraitis in second (1:42.59) and Brian Bull in third (1:43.68)
  • McChesney captured the win in the 100 fly (50.17), narrowly touching the wall ahead of Kidchob (50.27) and Jonah Stein (50.84); Stein was second in the 200 fly (1:53.07), where Pablo Salazar placed third (1:53.20)
  • Kidchob swam on three first-place relays: the 200 and 400 medley relays and the 200 free relay
  • Hoban was also on three winning relays, joining Kidchob on the 200 free and 200 medley relays and also swimming on the 400 free relay
  • Bradley Frank (200/400 free) and McChesney (200 free, 400 medley) were also involved in a pair of first-place relays
