Men's Swimming & Diving Flies Past Montclair in Dual Finale

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The TCNJ men's swimming and diving team got a well-balanced effort led by its underclassmen in surging to a 177-101 victory at Montclair State in the regular-season dual finale on Saturday.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES
  • Mason Bushay won the 100 back in 54.87 seconds, nearly a second clear of teammate Ryan Heerema (55.64) in second
  • Gavin Formon edged Ryan Higgins by just .06 seconds to win the 200 free in a mark of 1:44.95
  • Jonah Stein claimed first place in the 100 breast (59.75), with Shawn Kushner in second
  • Pablo Salazar won the 200 fly by almost five seconds with a clocking of 1:55.15
  • M.J. Hoban took first in the 50 free (21.78)
  • Ryan Higgins set a pool record in the 200 back at 1:50.93, lapping the field by well over six seconds
  • Tyler McGeehan claimed an individual victory in the 200 breast (2:10.54)
  • Dylan DeWitt led a 1-2 finish in the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:50.83 to outlast teammate Ryan VanDeVeen (4:54.31)
  • Kye Brushaber picked up a win in the 200 IM, clocking in at 1:59.57
  • McGeehan was part of both the first-place 200 medley (1:36.00) and 400 free (3:14.47) relays; he was joined by Bushay, Joe McChesney, and Bradley Frank in the 200 medley and Hoban, Formon, and Higgins in the 400 free
  • Formon (49.13) and McChesney (49.48) placed second and third, respectively, in the 100 free
ON THE BOARDS
  • Ethan Weiss won both 1-meter dive competitions, scoring 331.55 and 194.70 points
  • Michael Wu was second in both (280.15 and 160.95)
