Men's Soccer Trio Lands CSC Academic All-District Honors

11/25/2025 12:00:00 PM

EWING, N.J. - TCNJ Men's Soccer's Massimo Rodio, Matias Hornos and Sean Wood were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, as released by the organization this afternoon. The Lions' three selections are tied for the most in program history and marks the third consecutive season TCNJ has had multiple student-athletes earn the distinction.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

An accountancy major with a 3.51 cumulative GPA, Rodio took on a much larger role in his final season in Ewing en route to his first CSC Academic All-District selection. Starting in 20 of the Lions' 21 games, the senior finished with a career-high 10 points coming via four goals and two assists. Rodio played north of 80 minutes in the midfield in eight of TCNJ's final 10 games, scoring his career-best fourth goal in the Lions' 5-1 rout of Rutgers-Camden in the NJAC Quarterfinal.

Hornos – also a first-time CSC Academic All-District honoree – holds a cumulative GPA of 3.5 as an accountancy major. A 2024 All-NJAC Second Team selection, the junior finished with three goals and four assists in 2025, the latter of which was tied for third on the team. Hornos was at his best late in TCNJ's season, scoring the game's opening goal just 16 seconds into the Lions' NJAC Quarterfinal against Rutgers-Camden before adding two assists in their win over 20th-ranked Montclair State to advance to the conference championship for the first time since 2010.

Wood rounds out TCNJ's Academic All-District honorees with the first selection of his career. A computer engineering major with a 3.78 GPA, the junior was a mainstay in a Lions backline that allowed an NJAC-best 0.81 goals per game in 2025 – the program's best mark since 1994.
