GALLOWAY, N.J. – The No. 19 TCNJ men's basketball team fell victim to a subpar shooting performance in an 80-64 NJAC loss at Stockton on Wednesday night.
Nick Koch netted a game-high 24 points, but the Lions went just 5-of-31 (16.1 percent) from 3-point range in watching its five-game winning streak come to an end.
TCNJ (5-2, 1-1) led just once – at 4-2 about three minutes in on a driving lay-in by Koch. It was all Stockton after that.
The Ospreys (2-3, 1-1) took the lead for good with a dunk to make it 7-5, then knocked down two 3-pointers during a quick 12-0 run to seize a 21-7 advantage at the 8:52 mark of the first half.
Koch bookended an 8-0 burst with a pair of buckets to get the blue and gold right back in it, and it was just a 24-20 Stockton lead after
Anthony Milligan's jumper with 5:28 to go. The Ospreys, however, wrested control back with nine straight points as part of a 14-5 burst to close the half and take a 38-25 lead into the break.
The hosts opened the second half with a 3-pointer and a dunk, and TCNJ never got closer than 14 the rest of the way.
