Women's Basketball Fires on All Cylinders in 69-43 Rout of Stockton

GALLOWAY, N.J. -  The TCNJ women's basketball team was on the road to take on Stockton in NJAC play Wednesday night, using a staunch defensive effort and some hot shooting throughout to cruise to a 69-43 victory – the Lions' first of the year.

Brooke McFadden continued her impressive stretch of play, leading the way with a career-best 15 points, pairing her offensive output with a team-high seven rebounds and two steals. The sophomore was joined in double figures by Grace Kowalski (11) and Olivia Voshell (10), with Kowalski also dishing out a season-high six assists in the wire-to-wire win.

After the Ospreys' (4-2, 1-1 NJAC) Zemirah Ennals opened the scoring with a lay-in, it was TCNJ responding with an 8-0 burst courtesy of a McFadden lay as well as a pair of triples from Amanda Baylock and Maddie Bernhardt to jump in front 8-2. Stockton leveled the game at eight, but taking the lead for good was TCNJ (1-6, 1-1 NJAC), which used four more 3-pointers to double up the Ospreys over the final 4:40 and take a 22-15 advantage into the opening break.

The Lions' lead remained at five six minutes into the second quarter before triples from McFadden and Kowalski kick-started a 27-5 run that extended into the second half, shooting TCNJ in front 53-26. A 5-2 burst from Kowalski to end the third put the Lions up 30, allowing TCNJ to take its foot off the gas in the final 10 minutes en route to the 69-43 win.
