EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Franklin & Marshall in a windy home opener on Saturday.
Zoey Albert and
Shruti Mannan continued their hot start to the spring campaign, winning together at No. 1 doubles before posting the Lions' two points with singles victories.
Albert and Mannan claimed a 6-3 victory over Jenna Harrison and Mackenzie Sherman at No. 1 doubles, but the Diplomats (1-2) grabbed the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 2 and a 6-4 triumph at No. 3.
F&M won handily on courts 2, 5, and 6, and won by retirement at number 4.
Albert rolled past Harrison by a 6-1, 6-2 score line on the top court, while Mannan battled past Sherman for a 5-7, 7-6 (2), 10-3 victory at number three.
The Lions host William Smith (Saturday) and RIT (Sunday) next weekend.
