EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ men's tennis team continued its run of strong play with a 6-1 non-conference victory over Moravian on Friday afternoon at the Tennis Complex.
The Lions (4-2) swept doubles and won five of six singles courts in straight sets, extending their winning streak to three matches.
Harrison Maitland-Carter and
Asa Wong won 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and
Brett Schuster and
Alberto Thomas were 6-2 winners at No. 2. Making their dual match debuts,
Curt Gruber and
Sidd Arudi netted a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 slot to complete the sweep.
Nathan Chan and
Olufela Fieulleteau dropped just one game apiece in dominant performances at number five and number six singles, respectively.
Maitland-Carter cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 defeat of Wyatt Marshall on the top court, and Thomas downed Ronny Pimentell-Ferrer 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2.
Aidan Twamley prevailed in a tight first set before pulling away for a 7-5, 6-0 triumph at No. 4.
The Greyhounds (7-3) picked up their lone point in the number three flight, where Gavin Labbadia squeaked past
Brett Schuster 5-7, 6-3, 11-9 in a thrilling match.
