Four Lions Field NJAC Weekly Honors

PITMAN, N.J. – Four TCNJ student-athletes were recognized for outstanding performances with NJAC weekly awards.
 
Lacrosse's Ally Tobler (Player of the Week), Baseball's Tyler Provost (Player of the Week), Women's Track & Field's Jessica Reilly (Field Athlete of the Week), and Men's Track & Field's Maxim Rychkov (Rookie of the Week) were honored by the league office.
 
Tobler tallied 10 goals, two assists, and 15 draw controls in a pair of games for the Lions last week. She scored four goals to go with two assists and eight draws in a 14-8 loss at No. 4 Gettysburg on Wednesday before becoming TCNJ's all-time leading goal-scorer with six in a 22-9 rout of Lebanon Valley on Saturday. Tobler, who added seven draw controls in that contest, took over the all-time program record with her final goal of the afternoon, the 262nd marker of her prolific career.
 
Tobler currently leads the NJAC in goals (38), goals per game (4.75), draw controls (56), and draw controls per game (7.00). She also leads TCNJ in goals and draw controls and is tied for first in caused turnovers (11). Tobler is now a 6-time NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for her career.
 
Provost enjoyed the best week of his career at the plate in a 4-0 stretch for the Lions, slashing .438/.526/1.313 with four home runs, eight RBIs, and eight runs scored. The junior opened his week going 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBIs in a win over Widener, following that up with an outing in which he scored three runs in a rout of Haverford. Provost stayed hot in TCNJ's NJAC opener against William Paterson, going a combined 4-for-8 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs in a sweep of the Pioneers. He is a first-time NJAC Player of the Week recipient.
 
Reilly won the hammer throw with a mark of 51.28 meters at the Trinity Invitational on Saturday. Her mark is the best in the NJAC and Metro Region and currently ranks 7th in Division III. Reilly collected her third career Field Athlete of the Week award, and her second for the outdoor season.
 
Rychkov ran a 10.48 in the 100-meter dash at the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio, breaking a mark that had stood untouched since 1976 in another a dazzling outdoor debut. Rychkov nearly brought down another longstanding mark, posting a time of 21.40 in the 200-meter dash to finish .06 seconds shy of Eric Green's standard from 2002. His unit came within a quarter-second of the program record in the 4x100-meter relay, stopping the clock at 41.34 seconds.
 
Rychkov collected his first outdoor Rookie of the Week honor after racking up three such awards during the indoor campaign.
