EWING, N.J. – Defensive struggles and missed opportunities at the plate proved costly as TCNJ fell to Haverford, 4-2, on Tuesday afternoon at George Ackerman Park.
Despite outhitting the Fords 9-5, the Lions committed four errors and left six runners on base, allowing Haverford to take advantage and claim the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Haverford opened the scoring in the third with a two-out RBI single.

The Fords broke the game open in the sixth, scoring three runs—highlighted by a solo home run and two unearned runs following a pair of TCNJ errors.

The Lions got on the board in the seventh when Michael LaGravenis delivered an RBI single to score Justin Marcario. However, the inning ended when the runner who was on second base was thrown out at home on the single.

TCNJ tacked on another in the eighth as Ryan Goodall singled home Gianni Marano, but the Haverford closer shut the door, retiring the next batter and pitching a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Despite a strong outing, Jordan Gray took the loss, allowing three earned runs on five hits with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
