EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team swept its second opponent in as many days on Sunday, dropping just a lone doubles match in a 7-0 shutout of visiting RIT.
The Tigers won, 6-3, at No. 2 doubles, but the Lions (2-3) rendered that moot with 6-1 routs on the first and third courts.
Zoey Albert and
Shruti Mannan rolled past Kira Kronenberg and Emily Greb on the top court, while
Elizabeth Ring and
Gabriella Robinson did the same in the third slot.
Aira Abalos (6-2, 6-1 at No. 2), Mannan (6-2, 6-1 at No. 3), Robinson (6-1, 6-0 at No. 4), and
Gabrielle Brideau (6-1, 6-0 at No. 6) combined to lose just eight games in singles play.
Albert and Ring, meanwhile, were forced to go the distance. Albert picked up a 6-2, 3-6, 10-3 victory over Maya McDaniel at number one singles, and Ring sealed the sweep with a 6-1, 1-6, 10-6 defeat of Gabby Donahue in the fifth flight.
