MAHWAH, N.J. – Marissa Lucca scored six goals, including the 100
th of her career, and four other teammates recorded at least five points in the No. 11 TCNJ women's lacrosse team's 21-2 victory at Rowan in NJAC action on Wednesday night.
The second of Lucca's six-pack of markers hit the century mark for Lucca, who has already easily surpassed 150 points in less than two full seasons. She added a pair of assists for an eight-point night, a feat matched by
Ally Tobler with four goals and four assists.
Gabriella Roosa matched her career high with five assists, while
CJ Kole (3G/2A) and
Veronica Campbell (4G/1A) produced five points of their own for the Lions (10-3, 3-0).
Lucca scored less than a minute in off a feed from Tobler, part of a sequence of four goals in the first five minutes and change. Lucca logged another goal before
Ava Steinmetz capped the first-quarter scoring parade with a goal to make it 7-0.
Lucca fed Tobler for a goal 22 seconds into the second stanza and added another goal of her own less than 90 seconds later. Steinmetz' second goal of the night – part of a stretch of three consecutive Roosa-assisted scores – started the running clock with 10:59 to go in the period.
Ramapo finally got on the board with 5:44 left in the first half and TCNJ ahead by a dozen, but Tobler scored and then Lucca hit the back of the net twice in the closing minutes to send the blue and gold into intermission with a 15-1 advantage.
Roosa assisted on goals by Campbell and Kole in the third, and Kole, Tobler, rookie
Kayla Niederberger, and Campbell found nylon in the fourth.
Julia Charest made two saves before being lifted for
Hailey Wexler late in the second quarter. Wexler stopped two shots without allowing a goal, and
Kylie Kurtz caused a turnover in her relief stint.
Jordyn Landman made one save after entering the game with under seven minutes to play.
