EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season on Friday afternoon with a hard-fought 5-2 loss to Division II Goldey-Beacom at the Tennis Complex.

Aira Abalos was a double-winner for the Lions, who finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-6.

  • Abalos and Gabrielle Brideau kicked things off with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles
  • After the Lightning (15-5) won 6-2 at No. 3, the top doubles tilt went down to the wire. Zoey Albert and Shruti Mannan fought off a pair of match points at 3-5, fighting back to force a tiebreaker and winning that by a 7-2 count to steal the doubles point
SINGLES
  • Abalos was the lone Lion to win a singles point, coming from a set down to capture a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) matchup with Zehra Canbaz
  • Every other TCNJ player won at least three games in one singles set, but none besides Abalos were able to force a third
NOTES
