EWING, N.J. - The top-seeded TCNJ women's tennis team hosted fourth-seeded Kean in the NJAC semifinals Wednesday afternoon, sweeping past the Cougars to secure their spot in Saturday's conference championship match.
 
DOUBLES

• The Lions wasted no time securing the first point of Wednesday's match, with duos Aira Abalos and Gabrielle Brideau at court two and Elizabeth Ring and Gabriella Robinson at court three both winning in straight sets.
•  Zoey Albert and Shruti Mannan held a 4-0 lead at the top flight, but were forced to leave the match unfinished as a result of the conference's play-to-clinch rule.

SINGLES

• Brideau made quick work of Kean's Eve Hunter at court six, winning in straight sets to give TCNJ a 2-0 lead.
• Abalos finished just behind the freshman, also winning in straight sets in the second flight to move the Lions one point away from the win.
• TCNJ's team win came from court five, where Ring took down the Cougars' Gigi Gutierrez 6-0, 6-0 to advance the Lions to the NJAC Championship match.
• Elsewhere in the match, Robinson held a 5-0 advantage on court four after sweeping the first set, Mannan was up 3-2 in the second set following a 6-0, Set 1 win, and Albert took the first game in Set 2 after taking the first set in the top flight, 6-2.

• The Lions will host the winner of the other semifinal match between Stockton and Rutgers-Camden Saturday, April 26th in the NJAC Championship, where TCNJ will be looking for its 42nd straight title.
