HAVERFORD, Pa. – The TCNJ women's tennis team fell just short in a 4-3 nail-biter at No. 58 Haverford on Thursday afternoon.
 
The Lions (4-5) swept the doubles courts, but Haverford won four of six singles flights to eke out a hard-fought victory.
 
DOUBLES

• Zoey Albert and Shruti Mannan defeated Rachael Fitzgerald and Mallika Reddy, 6-3, at No. 1
• Aira Abalos and Anusha Perinkolam also won 6-3 against Abhishree Menon and Erika Phanord at No. 2
• Gabriella Robinson and Elizabeth Ring rolled to a 6-2 victory over Caroline Gay and Lucy King at No. 3

SINGLES

• Gabrielle Brideau quickly extended the Lions' lead to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 rout of Gay in the number six flight
• The Fords, however, won on each of the top four courts to seal it. Three of them were in straight sets, but the pivotal one came when Fitzgerald edged Albert 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 1
• Ring saved three match points in a super tiebreak at No. 5, eventually outdueling Menon 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9)

NOTES

• Abalos moved into a tie for 7^th in program history with her 72^nd career doubles victory
