Five Lions Named for NJAC Weekly Honors

9/22/2025 12:07:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. – Five TCNJ student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding performances with weekly awards from the NJAC on Monday.

Jadyn Huff (Offensive Player of the Week) and Lindsey Hoffman (Rookie of the Week) gave the TCNJ field hockey team a pair of honorees, while Josh Santiago and Teagan Walker gave the TCNJ cross country teams a sweep of the Rookie of the Week awards. Carson Dodd, meanwhile, took home Rookie of the Week laurels in men's soccer.

Huff scored a goal in both TCNJ wins last week, extending her season-opening streak to seven consecutive games with a point. She netted a first-quarter goal in Wednesday's 4-3, double-OT win over Swarthmore and had a hand in both goals as the Lions took down No. 11 Ursinus, 2-1 on Saturday. Huff assisted on Codie Sciacca's opening goal late in the first period and rocketed in a goal off a corner injection with just over five minutes remaining to put TCNJ ahead for good. Huff leads the NJAC in both points (16) and points per Game (2.29), and she is also tied for first in goals (6) and goals per game (.857) as well as tied for second in assists (4) and assists per game (.571). Huff is now a three-time NJAC Player of the Week for her career.

Hoffman made a huge impact in her first extended action, setting up both the game-tying goal with 15 seconds left in regulation as well as the game-winner in double-OT as the Lions took down Swarthmore. Inserted at halftime after playing just two minutes total in the season's first five games, Hoffman created the opportunity that led to the late equalizer and notched the assist on Isabel Maher's game-winner in the second extra session. She was rewarded with her first career start on Saturday.

Dodd put together his third consecutive shutout in the Lions' 0-0 draw against a strong Arcadia side last Wednesday. The freshman made a pair of critical saves in the contest, including a one-on-one denial in the first half to keep the Knights off the board.

Santiago claimed his second Rookie of the Week honor in three appearances this season, crossing the finish line in 25:23.03 to take eighth place overall at the Osprey Open on Saturday. Walker was also the top freshman on the women's side at the Osprey Open, placing 18th overall in a time of 23:50.47.
