GLASSBORO, N.J. – On Saturday, the TCNJ men's swimming and diving team wrapped up a two-day dual meet against the Profs of Rowan University. The Lions dominated the contest, with
Andrew Kidchob and
Joe McChesney posting B-cut times to put a bow on the weekend's action.
DAY 1 SWIMMING
Kidchob's B cut came in the 100 back, where he won with a time of 49.14. That time is the fifth-fastest in Division III since mid-December. Before that event, he combined with
Tyler McGeehan,
Joe McChesney, and
M.J. Hoban for a win in the 200 Medley relay (1:30.41).
Steven Bendoraitis eked out a narrow win by just 36 hundredths of a second in the 1650 free; he posted a time of 16:08.16. Hoban then posted a 20.96 in the 50 free, followed up by McGeehan in the 200 breast with at time of 2:01.77—the third fastest mark in Division III since mid-December.
Gabe Beverini followed up with a win in the 200 free (1:41.44). After that, McChesney narrowly missed out on a B cut of his own in the 100 fly. In that win, McChesney posted a 48.69, which is currently the third fastest time in Division III since December 20
th.
The Lions concluded the first day with a win 400 free relay, where the team of McChesney, Beverini,
Derin Ozbas, and Hoban logged a 3:05.43.
DAY 2 SWIMMING
The second day of the weekend went much like the first, with
Joe McChesney securing a B-cut time in the 200 fly (1:49.55) which is currently the third best in Division III since December 20
th. In that event, TCNJ also took second and third, thanks to
Pablo Salazar (2
nd, 1:51.37) and
Owyn Keiderling (3
rd, 1:54.91).
Overall, the TCNJ took at least first and second in every event but one.
Gavin Formon (1
st, 4:41.85) and
Will Heinze (2
nd, 4:42.14) got it started in the 500 free. In the 200 back,
Andrew Kidchob finished first in 1:50.34, while
Mason Bushay placed in second with a time of 1:53.37. In the 100 breast, the only day-two event in which TCNJ did not take the top two spots,
Tyler McGeehan finished first (56.24) and
Dylan Negron finished third (58.76).
TCNJ also took first and second in the 100 free (
M.J. Hoban,
Gabe Beverini), the 400 IM (
Pablo Salazar,
Gavin Formon), and the 200 free relay. The team of Beverini,
Bradley Frank, Kidchob, and Hoban placed first as the A relay, followed up by the B relay of McChesney, Bushay,
Matt Jensen, and Bendoraitis in second place.
DIVING
For the diving squad,
Joshua Kosukhin led the way in both 1-meter and 3-meter, scoring a 212.40 in the former and a 191.85 in the latter.
Josh Bouchard scored 175.73 in both events, while
Wyatt Marble achieved a 174.38 and a 174.30.
The Lions now look ahead to next Friday's home meet against Swarthmore, which will take place at 5:00 PM on January 23.
