PITMAN, N.J. - A conference-best five student-athletes received weekly NJAC honors, as announced by the organization this afternoon.
Â
TCNJ football's
Noah Croutch (Defensive Player of the Week) and
Grant Lorentzen (Offensive Rookie of the Week) were honored after a pair of career outings against Castleton while
Sean Najdzinowicz was tabbed men's soccer's Defensive Player of the Week, with men's cross country's
Will Nelson and
Tyler Hurst sweeping cross country's awards to round out the Lions quintet of honorees.
Â
Croutch had a career day in Saturday's 38-23 Homecoming victory over the Spartans, racking up 10 tackles (4 for loss) and 2.5 sacks - all personal bests. The junior became the first TCNJ player with 2.5 sacks in a game since 2022, and the first since 2024 to rack up 4 tackles for loss. Croutch's sacks accounted for 21 lost yards for the Spartans, and his tackles for loss covered 23 yards.
Â
Lorentzen, meanwhile, scored a pair of long touchdowns Saturday, hauling in a 69-yard touchdown catch from
Walker Bailey in the second quarter before taking an end-around 50 yards to the house in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Lorentzen also had 62 yards of returns, including a 20-yard punt return.  Â
Â
Najdzinowicz posted a pair of shutouts in another undefeated week for the Lions. Facing off against two of the highest-scoring offenses in the NJAC, the sophomore tied his season-high with seven saves in TCNJ's scoreless tie against Montclair State before adding six saves in another shutout of Rutgers-Newark. Starting between the posts in eight of the Lions' 12 games thus far, Najdzinowicz has played a major part in TCNJ being just one of eight unbeaten teams remaining in Division III.
Â
Nelson finished as the top Division-III runner at the NJIT XC Invitational on Saturday, finishing 8th in 25:21.82 en route to his first NJAC Runner of the Week selection. The Lions finished 6th overall and 2nd among DIII squads on the weekend.
Â
Hurst caps off the Lions' honorees with his second career NJAC Rookie of the Week selection after finishing 52nd overall out of 187 runners at the NJIT XC Invitational, logging a time of 27:13.19.
