EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team swept its way into spring break with a 7-0 shutout of visiting Hartwick on Wednesday.
Playing indoors on the Rec Center courts, the Lions stayed unbeaten by dominating a rematch of last year's first-round NCAA Tournament tilt and will take an unblemished 8-0 record with them into spring break.
The Lions conceded five games total for the day, none of them in doubles.
Zoey Albert and
Shruti Mannan (No. 1),
Eleni Dakos and
Gabrielle Brideau (No. 2), and
Elizabeth Ring and
Gabriella Robinson (No. 3) all scored 6-0 bagels in doubles play.
Albert kept the streak going in singles, posting a 6-0, 6-0 double-bagel in the second flight. She was joined in perfection by Robinson and Ring, each of whom posted 8-0 sweeps in a pro set at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
In between, Mannan registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number four, and Dakos delivered the clinching point with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph at number one.
Brideau was a 6-1, 6-0 victor in the number three flight.
