PITMAN, N.J. – A trio of TCNJ student-athletes earned NJAC weekly honors, as announced by the conference this afternoon. TCNJ lacrosse's
CJ Kole repeated as the conference's Offensive Player of the Week while softball's
Maya Knasiak was tabbed the Pitcher of the Week, with baseball's
Tyler Perry rounding out the trio with his first selection as the conference's Rookie Pitcher of the Week.
Kole eclipsed the 100-goal mark for her career in Saturday's 17-5 win over New Paltz, racking up five goals and a pair of assists en route to her second straight Offensive Player of the Week nod. The junior had a hat-trick in the first half, joining the Century Club on a marker with 3:32 to go in the second quarter, and added another tally in each of the final two frames. Kole also racked up nine draw controls, converted both of her free-position attempts, and added one caused turnover.
Knasiak was untouchable in her two appearances in the circle this week, tossing a pair of complete-game shutouts – already her second and third of the year – in wins over Albion and VTSU Castleton. The junior opened her week with a near-perfect outing against the Britons, fanning 11 batters while allowing a lone hit in a 7-0 win. Knasiak followed up that performance by allowing just two hits and striking out five more in a 1-0 win over the Spartans. The junior boasts an NJAC-leading 49 strikeouts and is holding batters to a .129 average through her six appearances.
Perry made three appearances in relief for the Lions last week, helping TCNJ to a pair of victories. He notched the first win of his collegiate career in a 12-6 win over John Jay, where he struck out four batters in four innings while allowing no hits. The freshman also pitched two innings in relief against Ithaca, holding the Bombers to one run and helping the Lions secure a 15-3 victory.
