PITMAN, N.J. – Three TCNJ student-athletes received weekly recognition from the NJAC for their outstanding performances during the previous week of competition.

Maya Knasiak was named Pitcher of the Week in softball, while Austin Hanni (Rookie Pitcher of the Week) of the baseball team and Abby Williams of the lacrosse team collected Rookie of the Week accolades.

Knasiak was nearly untouchable in two starts for the Lions, striking out 22 batters in a pair of one-hit shutouts. The junior opened her week fanning 10 batters across seven frames in a 3-0 win over Centenary, looking even more dominant two days later in a 14-0 win over Maine Presque Isle in which she allowed one hit and struck out 12 in just five innings. Knasiak was also a force at the plate for TCNJ, slashing .667/.714/1.000 with five RBIs in her two appearances.

Knasiak has been dominant this spring, posting a 6-1 record with a microscopic 0.56 ERA and a whopping 71 strikeouts in 50.0 innings in the circle. The junior ace, who has six complete games and five shutouts in seven starts, is holding opposing batters to a .113 average on just 19 hits (14 of them singles).

In the first start of his collegiate career, Hanni tossed a 91-pitch complete game in a 5-2 win over Mount Aloysius during the Lions' spring break trip to Myrtle Beach. He logged four strikeouts while allowing just four hits and two walks on the day. Through six appearances this year, Hanni is holding opponents to a .164 average while touting an ERA of 0.51 and a WHIP of 0.96.

Williams continued her stellar defensive play last week, posting three caused turnovers apiece in the Lions' wins over No. 24 Babson and Roanoke. She also added three ground balls in Saturday's 13-11 win over the Maroons. Williams tops TCNJ and ranks fourth in the NJAC with 15 caused turnovers on the year.
