Women's Tennis Clinches NJAC Regular-Season Crown

GALLOWAY, N.J. – The No. 40 TCNJ women's tennis team once again locked up another NJAC regular-season crown with dominating sweeps of Rutgers-Camden and Stockton on Saturday.

The Lions (16-1, 4-0) will as usual be the No. 1 seed for the upcoming NJAC Tournament, which gets underway next Wednesday when the blue and gold hosts 4th-seeded William Paterson.

Aside from another regular-season title, the big news of the day was Gabriella Robinson eclipsing 100 career wins. The junior became the 25th player in program history to join the Century Club with 6-0 bagel alongside Elizabeth Ring at third doubles.

Eleni Dakos and Gabrielle Brideau were hot on their heels with a bagel of their own at number two doubles, and Zoey Albert and Shruti Mannan dispatched Bella Albert and Grace Albert (no relation to Zoey) by a 6-2 count.

Dakos and Ring were right off the court with 6-0, 6-0 double bagels on the bookend singles courts (first and sixth, respectively) before Zoey Albert posted the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the second flight.

Robinson added to her career tally with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number five before Brideau won 6-0, 6-4 over Grace Albert at number three and Mannan logged a 6-3, 6-3 win against Bella Albert at number four.

The Lions made even shorter work of Stockton, which forfeited third doubles as well as sixth singles, and did not drop a single game.

Albert and Mannan (No. 1) joined Brideau and Dakos (No. 2) as 6-0 winners in doubles.

Dakos (No. 1), Albert (No. 2), Mannan (No. 3), Robinson (No. 4), and Ring (No. 5) all won 6-0, 6-0 in singles play, with Anusha Perinkolam receiving a win by forfeit at number six.

NOTES
  • Albert moved into a tie with former teammate Chase Eisenberg '24 for 19th in program history with 116 career wins
  • Robinson notched her 60th career doubles win, also tied for 25th in school history
