Lions Post Six-Pack of NJAC Weekly Winners

4/20/2026 2:16:00 PM

PITMAN, N.J. –  An NJAC-leading six TCNJ student-athletes earned weekly recognition, as announced by the conference this afternoon. Among the Lions' honorees were lacrosse's Marissa Lucca and Emily Potenza, baseball's Braden Dromboski and Jesse Beer, women's tennis' Zoey Albert and men's track and field's Noah Traverso.

Lucca went ballistic in a pair of TCNJ routs en route to her third career NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honor. The senior set a program record with 14 points on five goals and nine assists – one off the school record – in a 21-4 win over Neumann on Wednesday before racking up seven goals and four assists in Saturday's 20-1 runaway against Ramapo. Lucca, who has registered double-digit points in three of her last four games, has moved into fifth in school history in career points (280) and assists (101). She now leads the NJAC with 87 points while ranking second in both goals (53) and assists (34).

Potenza, a first-time NJAC honoree, made her presence felt all over the field last week, setting new career highs in points in back-to-back outings with three goals and an assist against Neumann and four goals and two assists versus Ramapo. The junior also tallied eight draw controls, eight ground balls, and three caused turnovers for the week.

Dromboski was unstoppable at the plate during the Lions' latest five-game stretch, slashing .500/.556/.773 with 13 RBIs, seven runs, three doubles and one home run to earn his first NJAC Player of the Week honors. The junior opened the week with three consecutive games with at least three RBIs, including going 2-for-4 with four RBIs to help TCNJ to an upset victory over No. 6 Rowan.

Thanks to a stellar, nine-inning outing on the mound, Beer claims his first career NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors. The sophomore gave up just one run and five hits in nine innings against New Jersey City, guiding his team to a 6-1 victory.

Albert won all eight of her matches between number one doubles and number two singles as the Lions enjoyed a terrific week in which they knocked off a pair of top-35 teams and clinched another NJAC regular-season title. Albert and Shruti Mannan were 4-0 at number one doubles, including a 7-6 (2) win against Haverford and a 6-3 triumph over Stevens; they also won 6-2 versus Rutgers-Camden and 6-0 against Stockton in conference play. Albert also went 4-0 at number two singles, all of them in straight sets, and conceded a total of two games in her league matches. She is now a 2-time NJAC Player of the Week for her career.

Traverso rounds out TCNJ's honorees with his first career Track Athlete of the Week nod after lowering his own program-record time in the 400, clocking 47.37 over the weekend. The junior's new record time is the 12th-fastest mark in DIII so far this year. Traverso also led off the 4x400 relay in 46.20, helping the Lions post a time of 3:11.49 — currently the second-fastest time in DIII.
