EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team's latest foray into NCAA Tournament play will take them to Boston this weekend.

The Lions (19-1), currently 27
th in the ITA team rankings, will take on Nichols in a first-round match on Friday at MIT, the host of the opening weekend pod. A victory would send TCNJ into a second-round showdown with the host Engineers, with Bowdoin lurking in the other half of the pod.

TCNJ is making yet another NCAA appearance after extending its remarkable streak of NJAC championships to 43 consecutive seasons. The Lions are seeking to win a first-round match for the 19
th straight year.

Led by NJAC Player of the Year
Eleni Dakos, the Lions are in the midst of one of the finest seasons in program history, a loss to top-25 NYU the only blemish on the regular-season slate.

Dakos has helmed the singles lineup all season, a mix that also includes underclassmen in juniors
Zoey Albert (No. 2) and
Gabriella Robinson (No. 5) and sophomores
Gabrielle Brideau (No. 3),
Shruti Mannan (No. 4), and
Elizabeth Ring (No. 6).

Regionally ranked, Dakos is sparkling 17-2 in singles duals, with Albert at 16-2 and Ring and Robinson at 15-2.

Albert and Mannan are 16-3 at No. 1 doubles and hold an NCAA regional ranking alongside Brideau and Dakos, who are 16-2 at No. 2. Ring and Robinson have dominated at No. 3, posting a 16-2 dual mark.

Nichols (15-4) is back in the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row after defeating Endicott in the College of New England (CNE) championship back in the fall.

MIT is making its 14
th all-time NCAA appearance after seeing its run of eight straight NEWMAC titles end at the hands of Babson last weekend. The Engineers were with TCNJ at Bowdoin's regional a year ago, eventually falling to the host Polar Bears in the regional final. MIT is 7
th in the ITA team rankings and boasts four singles players in the top-50 of the individual rankings.
