SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Nathan Chan and Felipe Postolov reached the quarterfinals of the championship doubles bracket at the ITA Northeast Regional on Friday at Skidmore.
 
The TCNJ men's tennis team also received a strong effort from Sidd Arudi and Tomas Velez, who advanced to the semifinals of the B draw.
 
Postolov and Aidan Twamley won first-round singles matches before bowing out in the second round.
 
Chan and Postolov kicked off their regional run with an 8-4 victory over Farmingdale State's Luke Plana and Emil Sabovic. They followed that up with a hard-fought 8-6 win against 8^th-seeded Jesus Alberto and Solen Bellemare of Skidmore, setting up a quarterfinal date with regional rivals NYU and its pairing of Boren Zheng and Bryan Hui.
 
Arudi and Velez pulled out a pair of nail-biters to reach the B draw doubles semifinals. The duo defeated a team from RPI, 8-7 (5) and then posted an 8-6 defeat of a pairing from Union.
 
Arudi and Velez will meet Baruch's Joshua Bey and Ryan Huang in the semifinals on Saturday.

Logan Knasiak and Mateus De Vasconcellos also won a B draw doubles match before falling, 8-6, in the quarterfinals to a team from RIT.
 
Postolov also prevailed in his singles debut, edging past Vassar's Jonas Santos in a third-set super breaker to reach the second round. The rookie's second-round showdown with No. 16 seed Stuart Konezny also went the distance, but this time Postolov came up on the wrong end of a 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 thriller.
 
Twamley outlasted Rochester's Alan Wang 6-1, 5-7, 11-9 in a marathon super tiebreak before falling to Vassar's Eugene Lee in straight sets in the second round.
 
Chan gave one of the No. 8 seeds, Skidmore's Mustafa Ege, a battle in the first round of the main singles draw, but came up a break short in both ends of a 6-4, 7-5 decision.
