Tapped as the Lions’ co-captain for the coming season, Dan Dornacker is hoping to cap his career in style with an impressive performance after waiting in the wings the last few seasons. He has gained the respect of his teammates for his unselfish play and the ability to fill many roles on the offense. A solid blocker, he is also a good receiver and a tough runner. Look for Dornacker to lineup in many different positions this fall to help the squad in any way possible.

As a junior, he was the team’s second leading rusher with 59 carries for 193 yards with a pair of touchdowns. He averaged 19.3 yards per game on the ground, while adding 13 catches for 108 yards. He averaged 10.8 yards per game in the air and is looking to increase his numbers for the Lions in 2007 with an eye on returning the team to postseason play at year’s end.

In 2005, he was once again the team’s second leading rusher with his 162 yards on 43 carries with a 16.2 yards per game average. He added 15 catches for 168 yards with a long of 30 yards while averaging 16.8 yards per game. He ranked fourth on the 2005 team with his 16.2 yards per game of total offense as a sophomore.

He has played in 21 games for the Lions and has considerable experience and will be looked to for a breakout season for the Lions this fall.

A computational psychics major at TCNJ, he is a former all-star from Brick Township High School and earned a spot on TCNJ’s Scholar-Athlete honor roll in 2006-2007 as well as the NJAC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention Team.
