One of three Misiura family members currently on the Lions’ 2008 football roster, Austin Misiura returns this fall after establishing himself last fall as a member of the squad. He is a transfer from Division II East Stroudsburg University, where he redshirted for a team that reached the NCAA semifinals. He he appeared in just five games as a rookie at TCNJ in 2006. He played in 10 games last year and racked up 223 receiving yards on 15 catches. He added a pair of touchdowns to help pace the Lions’ offense.
His career-long reception game in the Lion’s 30-0 win over SUNY Cortland as he hauled in a 72-yard catch and helped set up a Lion scoring drive in the process. He saw saw limited action on the Lions’ special teams unit and is poised for a breakthrough season this year after emerging from the shadows.
Misiura’s father, Rik played at linebacker for current TCNJ head coach Eric Hamilton in the 1970’s. He is joined on the gridiron once again this season by his younger brothers, Dean and Chase.
He is a Dean’s List student at TCNJ as well as a two-time TCNJ Scholar-Athlete and plans on attending medical school after graduation from TCNJ. He has worked as a physical therapy aide and is a health and exercise science major at the College. He is a former all-county and team captain for the football team at Holmdel at High School under coach Joe O’Connor.
