Elected team captain for the 2003 season, Jeremy Julio should be a leader for the Lions’ defensive unit and the team as a whole. A three-sport letterwinner at TCNJ, Jeremy contributed 28 tackles last fall, while coming up big on special team’s coverage. He blocked five kicks in 2002 and now has nine career blocked kicks in three seasons with TCNJ. He has played in 25 games and now has 78 career tackles entering the 2003 campaign.

As a junior, Jeremy made 28 tackles with a team-high five blocked kicks. He added two pass breakups and a fumble recovery as well and is ranked sixth on the team’s defense with his 3.5 tackles per game average. He was named to the 2002 NJAC All-Conference Second Team on defense at year’s end.

In 2001, he had an impressive sophomore season having added five interceptions and 48 tackles. An athletic performer, he picked off five passes and had 37 return yards on the season, while making six pass break-ups as well. He blocked a pair of kicks and had four tackles for losses as well (-13 yards) to go with his 48 stops. He even had one punt return for 40 yards as well on the season and returns this fall after a breakout campaign on the Lions’ defense.

As a rookie, he played in six games and made just two tackles with one interception, which he returned 18 yards. He added one pass break-up, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and a pair of
blocked kicks on the 2000 campaign, with one punt return for 16 yards as well.

A physical education major at TCNJ, Jeremy was 2001 NJAC Second Team All-Conference honoree on defense. In addition, he is also a two-time TCNJ Scholar-Athlete honoree. Scholastically, he was a three-sport athlete at Long Branch High School, starring in football, swimming and baseball, leading his 1999 football team to the state championship title as a senior.
