Personal: Blake was born on February 28, 1983. He is the son of Robert and Susan Abbot and is majoring in Health and Physical Education.

As a sophomore in 2003, Blake Abbott broke into the Lions’ lineup and proceeded to finish the season as the team’s second leading scorer with 58 points. The team’s only place kicker last fall, Abbott would finish the season ranked 12th in Division III with his 1.0 field goals per game after converting 10-of-19 tries. The NJAC’s top kicker in 2003 after leading the league in kick scoring (59 points, 5/9 ppg) and field goals per game (1.0), Abbott ranked second in overall scoring in the conference and second in PAT kicking percentage (90.6) in his first year on the job with the Lions.
A three-sport athlete in high school, Abbott earned letters in football, ice hockey and tennis serving as the team captain for both the ice hockey and tennis teams. The MVP in ice hockey and tennis, Abbott also earned All-Shore and All-State Group II honors in football. A transfer from Wagner College, Abbott had an outstanding rookie season that saw him finish as the team’s second leading scorer after collecting 39 points in 2001. He was named the NEC’s Rookie of the Week following Wagner’s 34-7 win over St. John’s after he tied a school record with four field goals in the contest, including a school record kick of 50 yards.
