Personal: Alan was born on December 10, 1983. He is the son of Alan and Lorraine Kotteles and is majoring in Finance.
A returning letterwinner from last year’s team, Alan Kotteles has now earned two varsity letters with the Lions and is coming off a break through season that saw him lead the team’s receivers with three catches for touchdowns. The team’s second leading returning scorer from a year ago, Kotteles will be looked this season to be a leader for the wide receivers.
On the 2003 season, he netted 220 receiving yards on 15 catches and converted three receptions for scores, including the game winner to help the Lions defeat Rowan, 22-20 on the road. His 36-yard touchdown catch capped a night that saw him make three catches for 52 yards. He went on to finish the season with 220 yards, including a career long reception of 43 yards in the Lions’ regular-season win over Kean University.
As a sophomore, he saw action in three games for the Lions with just one catch for 13 yards. TCNJ is confident that Kotteles will emerge this season as the go-to man in the air after finishing last year on a positive note.
He is also a two-time letterwinner on TCNJ’s track team and has helped the Lions capture back-to-back NJAC indoor and outdoor championships during his tenure on the team competing in multi-events.
A graduate of Morris Hills High School, he played football and track, earning all-area honors after setting a high school record for touchdown receptions.
The son of Alan and Lorraine Kotteles, his sister April is a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Persian Gulf on the USS Bellaeau Wood. A finance major at TCNJ, he has worked as a baseball umpire in his spare time as well as a car detailer.
