Andrew Pursell is no stranger to TCNJ’s football program. A 2003 graduate from TCNJ, Pursell has worked with the program since the 2000 season as a student assistant coach. In the fall of 2004, he returned in a new role as the Lions’ running back coach, a role he returned to in 2006. During his time as a student assistant, Pursell worked mostly with the quarterbacks and tight ends, while also assisting offensive coordinator Rich Alercio with his offensive line clinic the past three years.

A TCNJ Merit Scholar, Pursell has been employed since January 2004 at nearby Nottingham High School as a math teacher. In addition to his role as a teacher, he also serves as the tennis coach in the spring seasons. A graduate of Highland Regional High School, Pursell garnered the Brooks-Irvine Unsung Hero award and was a member of the National Honor Society there, graduating fourth in his class with a 4.1 GPA.
