After several seasons away from the Lions’ sidelines, Chuck Murphy returns for a second stint with TCNJ, this time as a linebackers coach. From 1993-1995, Murphy served as a tight end coach for the team and helped the Lions earn a post-season bid in 1995. Twice from 1997-2000 and from 2000-02, he served as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator for the Princeton University Sprint football team after spending the 1996 season as an assistant coach with the linebackers at St. Peter’s College.
Prior to his first stint with the Lions, Murphy served as an assistant coach at Springfield Gardens High School in New York and was the head coach of the Coral Springs Youth Football program in Florida. In addition, Murphy was an assistant coach for the Western Connecticut State Colonials from 1984 to 1985, where he served as both a recruiting coordinator and coach of both the running backs and punting team.
Scholastically, Murphy played three seasons with St. John’s University as a defensive back and a wide receiver. Murphy was a two-year starter for the Redmen.
