In 2017, Norman D.KIng joined the Lions’ coaching staff as a wide receivers coach. King arrives at TCNJ with 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels. He served for the past four years as an assistant head football coach /offensive coordinator at Jersey Coast Academy of Toms River, N.J., a junior college football program participating in Seaboard Conference. King helped guide Jersey Coast Academy to the 2016 Seaboard Conference Championship game last fall.
Prior to Jersey Coast Academy, King was an assistant coach at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, where he served as running backs and wide receivers coach from 2010 to 2013.
King hails from Palmyra NJ, and is a graduate of Palmyra High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. As a result of his outstanding athletic achievements, King was inducted into the Palmyra High Sports Hall of Fame. During his collegiate career, King was a scholarship athlete at Rutgers University before transferring to West Virginia University. He entered into service with the United States Navy, while there he played U.S.Naval Football league as well as made the All Navy and All Armed Forces Track &Field Team. After an Honorable Discharge, King continued his education and athletic career at Rowan University, where he played football and track and field. He also had free agent tryouts with Philadelphia Eagles and Orlando Thunder of the WFAL.
Coach King is married to Tamala King and resides in Palmyra with their children.
