Tello enters his third season with The College of New Jersey football staff, coaching the secondary. He comes from the AFL Spokane Shock, where he was an assistant coach for the defensive backs. He was also an assistant with football and game operations, as well as an equipment assistant. He was a part of the Shock’s successful season in 2013 until it ended in the Western Conference Championship.
Before Tello joined the Shock, he was an assistant football coach at Carbondale Community High School as linebackers and defensive backs coach from 2009-2012. He was also was an intern for Southern Illinois University Athletics with game operations and marketing during the 2012-2013.
Tello recently graduated from Southern Illinois University this past December with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Administration. He is from the local area of Hamilton, NJ where he attended Steinert High School. He currently resides in Roebling, NJ.
