Second in the NJAC in solo tackles per game (5.0) ... Had 12 tackles and recovered a fumble at Muhlenberg (9/21) ... Finished with 11 tackles and a PBU at Gettysburg (10/26) ... Notched eight stops against both Salisbury (11/2) and William Paterson (11/9) ... Deflected three passes against F&M (9/14) and two versus Eastern (9/7)
2023 (SOPHOMORE): Played to second team All-NJAC honors ... Started all but one game at corner ... Racked up five interceptions to tie for the NJAC lead, along with eight pass breakups and 21 total tackles ... Had an interception in each of the first two games, against Eastern (9/2) and Muhlenberg (9/16) ... Produced a pair of interceptions in the shutout win at Kean (10/14), earning NJAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition ... Had six tackles and a PBU in the win at Salisbury (10/28) ... Snared another pick against William Paterson (11/4)
2022 (FRESHMAN): Enjoyed a tremendous rookie campaign, earning a starting corner spot ... Finished with 28 tackles and three interceptions ... Notched a pick in three straight games against Endicott (9/17), Rowan (10/7), and Montclair State (10/15) ... Piled up nine tackles in debut against Moravian (9/3) ... Named NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week three times
BEFORE TCNJ: Played football, basketball, and baseball at Newton High School ... Captained all three sports and was named team MVP in all ... Two-year captain, three-year team MVP, and three-time NJ Herald first team selection in football ... Two-time NJ Herald first team honoree in baseball ... Member of National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society
WHY TCNJ? I chose to come to TCNJ due to the excellent academics and because of the opportunity to continue being active and playing the sport I love the most.
PERSONAL: Born June 23, 2004 ... Parents are David and Susan Young ... Siblings are Luke and Grace ... Brother, Luke, played football at TCNJ and graduated in 2022 ... Biggest athletic thrill has been playing in the Phil Simms North/South Game ... Hobbies include working out, reading, and video games ... Favorite pregame meal is a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese and favorite postgame meal is cheesesteak ... Favorite athlete is Derek Jeter ... Prefers to do things when no one else is around because it fuels him to work harder for himself.
