A newcomer on the sidelines for the men’s basketball program at TCNJ, Greg Grant is no stranger to the men’s basketball program at the College. A three-year letterwinner for the Lions between 1986-1989, Grant established the program’s all-time scoring mark with 2,611 points, while leading the team to the 1989 NCAA Division III Men’s Championship game as the squad took home the runner-up title. Drafted by the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association in 1989, Grant played professional basketball for seven years with the likes of the New York Knicks, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Denver Nuggets.

Grant’s excellence on the court is legendary at the College, but has since extended to the sidelines having served as the co-head coach of the ABL Trenton Shooting Stars in 1997 as well as the head coach of the USBL Semi-Professional Basketball Team, the Jersey Shorecats. He served as an assistant coach with Williams at nearby Mercer County Community College from 2000-2008 and brings an extensive knowledge of the game with him.

Active in the Trenton community, Grant has been recognized for his effort having been named the Man of the Year for the local Toys for Tots campaign in 1995, while earning the City of Trenton’s “Mayor’s Good Guy Award three times from 1996-1999.

In 2004, he was bestowed the award “Excellence in Sports” as award handed out by the City of Trenton Black Image Achievement, while earning the 2006 and 2008 Community Service Award from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. He is the founder of the Teaching Hope, Changing Lives Foundation and the president of GGrant94ft Academic Sports Academy.
