Lions remain unbeaten in NJAC play

Mahwah, NJ… The College of New Jersey’s women’s soccer team remained unbeaten in conference play as the Lions got out to a quick start and never looked back posting a 3-0 victory at Ramapo College on Tuesday, October 17.

The win puts the Lions at 5-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and 9-1-2 overall, while the Roadrunners fell to 1-6 in the conference and 5-8-2 overall.

TCNJ didn’t let the wet conditions slow them down scoring two goals in the opening six minutes of the game setting the tone. Junior Christine Mullin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) opened the scoring just 2:24 into the game cashing in on a corner kick taken by Kristen Cubicciotti (North Haledon, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy). A little over three minutes later, Jillian Casey (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) made it 2-0 with an assist from Dana DiBruno (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East).

The lone goal of the second half came from freshman Kristina Shemming (Cranbury, NJ/West Windsor South) was set by on assist from junior Courtney Krol (Howell, NJ/Howell).

TCNJ keeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) registered a pair of saves while earning her seventh shutout of the season.

The Lions are right back on the field for another key NJAC game on Thursday, October 19 hosting William Paterson University at 7:30 p.m. at Lions’ Stadium.
