Bethlehem, PA, …The College of New Jersey women’s basketball team saw its modest two-game winning streak come to an end as the Lions fell 48-36 at Moravian College on Thursday.
The puts the Lions at 3-2 on the year, while the Greyhounds moved to 4-1.
Both teams played solid defense as each team connected on only 25 percent from the floor with TCNJ making 12-of-48 and Moravian 16-of-64. The Greyhounds held a 28-20 edge at halftime.
Sophomore center Hillary Klimowicz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) had a balanced game for the Lions with 10 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots. Junior Sara Best (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees) also netted 10 points, while senior Breanne Depken (Oradell, NJ/River Dell) and freshman Alexandra Gregorek (Mahwah, NJ/Academy of Holy Angels) added nine rebounds apiece.
The Lions open New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Saturday hosting New Jersey City University in a 1 p.m. tip-off.
