Lancaster, PA…The College of New Jersey’s men’s swimming team competed on Sunday at Franklin & Marshall College. TCNJ’s men’s team recorded a 120-80 win to improve to 2-0. F & M drops to 0-2 on the year.
TCNJ’s men opened the meet with a victory in the 400 medley relay as they posted a time of 3:38.87. Swimming the relay for the Lions were junior Kevin Oliver (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North), sophomore Ted Yoa (Ocean City, NJ/St. Augustine), junior Josh Forsman (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial), and junior Liam Gallagher (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan).
Sophomore Mike Heaney (Voorhees, NJ/Bishop Eustace) won the 1000 freestyle in 10:00.39 making the Lion swimmer 2-0 in the event thus far in dual meet action. He also won the 200 individual medley in 2:03.99 and was the Lions’ top finisher in the 200 backstroke with a third place finish in 2:06.32.
Heaney also swam the second leg of the first place 400 freestyle relay team for the Lions as they posted a time of 3:19.54 to capture the meet. Joining him on the relay were Gallagher, senior Kyle King (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), and sophomore Tom Nawrot (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick).
Yoa won the 200 breaststroke in 2:18.42, while taking third in the 200 individual medley in 2:05.90. King picked up a first in the 200 freestyle in 1:47.35, while Nawrot captured the 50 freestyle in 22.75. King was also the winner in the 100 freestyle with a performance of 48.34, while senior George Savulich (Edison, NJ/St. Joseph) picked up first in the 200 butterfly in 2:01.14.
           Sophomore Mike Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) won the 500 freestyle in 4:52.62 to help the Lions’ cause on the afternoon.
