Zodda sets another school record at FasTrak Meet

New York, NY…The College of New Jersey men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed on Friday night at the FasTrak Meet at the

TCNJ’s senior Jeff Zodda (Mercerville, NJ/Notre Dame) added to his resume as he broke the College’s record in the 500 meter run as he posted a time of 1:04.36 to finish in first place.

Sophomore Brian Kopnicki (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) finished in first place in the unseeded section of the one mile run in 4:13.63, an NCAA provisional qualifying time.

In the 5,000 meter run, freshman Kyle Alpaugh (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees) finished in sixth place in the unseeded race with a time of 15:19.27, an ECAC worthy performance. Also in the same race for the Lions was freshman Chris Guerriero (Saddle Brook, NJ/Saddle Brook) as he finished in 13th place in 15:31.76, also an ECAC qualifying time.

Among the many highlights at the meet for the Lion women, senior Kara Horner (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) finished in third in the unseeded section of the mile run with an ECAC qualifying time of 5:13.97. Sophomore Erin Enderly (Ocean Township, NJ/Ocean Township) posted a time of 5:18.21 in the same race to take ninth.

In the 3,000 meter run, the Lions posted three ECAC qualifying performances as freshman Julie Ullmeyer (West Long Branch, NJ/Shore Regional) led the way with a time of 10:42.00, while sophomore Heather Garleb (Howell, NJ/Howell) had a time of 10:46.00 and junior Jenna Prendergast (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) had a time of 10:47.00.
