Pomona, NJ… The College of New Jersey’s women’s soccer team battled Richard Stockton College to a scoreless tie as the Lions opened conference play on Wednesday, September 20.
The Lions, ranked second in the latest NSCAA Division III poll, are now 2-0-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
TCNJ head coach Joe Russo will have to wait another game for the chance to earn his 300th career win. With the tie, the veteran coach’s record is 299-29-21. His next attempt at the milestone victory will come this Saturday when the Lions host Montclair State University at 1 p.m. in the team’s first game at TCNJ’s new soccer stadium.
Freshman keeper Jessica Clark (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) posted her third shutout of the season without making a save.
For Stockton, Alex Rogers (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) finished with 10 saves.
