Box Score Salisbury, MD… The Lions of The College of New Jersey’s women’s basketball team snapped a three-game losing skid as they bested the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University on Monday night. TCNJ (6-7), picked up the 70-62 road win over the 8-4 Sea Gulls to collect the team’s first win in the 2007 half of the season.
            TCNJ had five players finish in double digit scoring performances on the night, while two players netted double-doubles in the victory. Leading the way for the Lions was senior Breanne Depken (Oradell, NJ/River Dell) with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore center Hillary Klimowicz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds. Rookie center Alexandra Gregorek (Mahwah, NJ/Academy of the Holy Angels) just missed a double-double as she hauled in 12 points and picked up nine boards in the game. 
Not to be left out, junior Sara Best (High Bridge, NJ/Voorhees) added 10 points, while freshman guard Nicole Diaz (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) chipped in 10 points to help the cause.  
The Lions led 36-23 at the break and for the game held a 52-38 edge on the boards and shot 46.0% from the floor (29-63), while also converting 10-of-15 free throws in the contest. 
Salisbury was led by senior guard Jessica Mills (Ijamsville, MD) collected a game-high 19 points, while junior guard Meghan Phillips (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Boro) added 17 points.
TCNJ returns to action on January 10 when they travel to Richard Stockton College for an 8:00 p.m. NJAC match-up with the Ospreys as they look to improve upon the team’s 1-2 league record.
