Allentown, PA… The Muhlenberg College men's soccer team tallied a 2-1 home win over the Lions of No. 7 ranked The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night. With the win, Mulenberg improves to 9-3 overall, while TCNJ drops to 10-3-3 overall.
Muhlenberg's sophomore Eric Miller (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) added the first goal of the match at 5:17 and led for almost 35 minutes before TCNJ's senior Craig Langan (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) on with his seventh goal of the year at 40:10.
Miller would figure in the game winning pass as he assisted freshman Evan Rubin (Southampton, PA/William Tennent) on the game winning goal at the opening minutes of the second half (49:50) to lift the Mules past the Lions for the second straight year.
In net for the Lions, senior Steve Scuttellaro (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) made five saves while Muhlemerg's senior Peter Bennett (Leola, PA/Conestoga Valley) picked up four saves in lifting his team to the win.
