Lions fall to D2 SCSU, 158-139

Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey's men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Division II Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. TCNJ's men's team posted a 163-124 win over the Owls to remain perfect on the year as the Lions are now 3-0 and SCSU drops to 1-1. In the women's race, SCSU beat TCNJ by a score of 158-139 as they are bow 2-1 and TCNJ drops to 1-3.

Senior Lauren Pfeifer (Freehold, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) won the 100 breaststroke for the Lions after posting a time of 1:09.30.

Senior Ava Kiss (North Brunswick, NJ/Stuart Country Day) took home first place in the 100 freestyle in 54.62, while also taking second in the 100 butterfly in 59.17. She was also on the winning 499 freestyle relay team that turned in a time of 3:46.13. She teamed with freshman Margaret Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), senior Kristin Udicious (Cherry Hill, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), and rookie Michele Wilson (Millville, NJ/Millville).

Junior Stacy Delehanty (Oceanport, NJ/Shore Regional) added a second in the 200 IM in 2:17.94, while Molloy took second in the 500 freestyle in 5:22.62. Freshman Katie Morgan (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) finished in second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:31.79, while senior Christine Marino (Scotch Plains, NJ/Mt. St. Mary's Academy) picked up second in the 200 backstroke in 2:18.84. Delehanty captured second in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.98 for the Lions as well.

Freshman Melissa Wallace (Metuchen, NJ/Metuchen) captured second in the 50 freestyle in 25.86, while senior Stefanie Rashti (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) was second in the 200 butterfly in 2:17.33.

Molloy was the runner-up in the 1000 freestyle in 11:01.57, while Udicious took second in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.92.

TCNJ's freshman diver Amanda Obst (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional) added a second place finish in the one and three meter events with her scores of 166.5 and 147.95, respectively.
