Bloomsburg, PA…The College of New Jersey's men's and women's swimming and diving teams traveled to Bloomsburg University on Saturday to take on the NCAA Division II Huskies in a dual meet. TCNJ's men's team posted a 137-116 win over the Huskies to remain perfect on the year as the Lions are now 4-0. In the women's race, Bloomsburg edged TCNJ by a score of 135-127 as the Lions slipped to 1-4 on the year.
TCNJ garnered a host of first-place finishes in the men's dual meet starting with the opening 200-yard medley relay. The team of Joe Tseng (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park), Liam Gallagher (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), Herman Chu (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) and Tim Rauch (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) teamed up for a winning time of 1:41.36.
Rauch also won a pair of individual events as he touched the wall first in the 100 freestyle in 50.21 seconds and in the 200 free in 1:49.63. Tseng added a first in the 100 backstroke in 56.53, while Gallagher won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.14.
The Lions received several other valuable top finishes as Mike Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) won the longest race of the day winning the 1,000 free in 10:14.47. Jonaid Lone (Lenoia, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) continued TCNJ's success in the freestyle events as the junior won the 500- free event in 5:08.47.
Senior RT Greeby (Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley) won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:03.59 and sophomore Eric Rohrs (Congers, NY/Clarkstown High North) placed first in the 200 breast finishing with a time of 2:19.49.
The final Lion swimmer to earn a first-place finish was James VanBiervliet (Hillsborough, Hillsborough) as sophomore won the 200 back in 2:04.97.
