Lynchburg, VA… The College of New Jersey women's soccer team earned its third straight trip to the NCAA Division III semifinals as the Lions slipped past host Lynchburg College 1-0 on Sunday.

TCNJ tallied the game's only goal with 24:25 remaining in the second half off of the foot of senior Kristen Cubicciotti (North Haledon, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy). The goal was her sixth of the season and her fourth game winner.

Sophomore keeper Jessica Clarke (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) picked up her 12th shutout of the season without having to make a save and has not allowed a goal in four appearances during the NCAA Tournament.

The Lions dominated play against the Hornets recording all 11 shots on goal in the game and had a decisive 24-6 advantage in overall shots.

The game matched the two best defensive teams in NCAA Division III as TCNJ posted its 18th shutout as a team lowering its top-ranked goals-against-average to 0.18. Lynchburg entered Sunday's game ranked second allowing .20 goals per game.

The win put the third-ranked Lions at 21-0-1, while Lynchburg concluded its season at 19-4-3.

The Lions will face a familiar foe in the semifinals in Messiah College on Friday, November 23 at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL. Messiah beat Ithaca College 3-1 to advance in the tournament. TCNJ defeated the Falcons in last season 1-0 in double overtime in the national semifinals, but Messiah won the 2005 national championship with a win over the Lions by that same 1-0 score.
