Arlington, VA… The College of New Jersey women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the young season as the Lions fell to the host Saints in the championship game of the 20th Annual Marymount (VA) University Tip-Off Classic on Sunday.
The loss put the Lions at 2-1, while the Saints improved to 3-0. TCNJ will get another shot at Marymount when the return to Arlington on December 16 for a second non-conference game.
TCNJ received a double-double from junior Hillary Klimowicz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) as the center scored 13 points and set a new career high with 14 rebounds. She also recorded seven blocked shots and was named to the all-tournament team.
Sophomore Alex Gregorek (Mahwah, NJ/Academy of Holy Angels) was the second Lion named to the all-tournament team as she contributed with 10 points and five rebounds against the Saints. Freshman Kelsey Kutch (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) had a balanced effort with seven points and six rebounds.
TCNJ returns to action on Tuesday, November 27 hosting Moravian College in a 6 p.m. start at Packer Hall.
