Ewing, NJ…The College of New Jersey men’s tennis team hosted New York University on Sunday in TCNJ’s Student Recreation Center. TCNJ, which is ranked No. 10 in the ITA Northeast Region, tallied an 8-1 win over the No. 12 regionally ranked Violets of NYU. TCNJ is now 2-0 on the young season, while NYU drops to 0-3.

Michael Klimchak (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) knocked off NYU’s junior
Mikhail Gurevich (Brooklyn, NY/American Heritage), 6-3, 6-4 as he recorded his second straight win over a regionally ranked opponent as Gurevich was ranked No. 5 in the Northeast Region in singles play. Klimchak is now 8-1 on the year in overall singles action.
Ranked No. 13 regionally in doubles, TCNJ’s No. 1 doubles pair of Klimchak and junior
Roger Mosteller (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) were also victorious as they bested Gurvich and sophomore
Brett Levin (LaJolla, CA/San Diego Academy), 8-1.
Mosteller was victorious at No. 2 singles as well with his 6-0, 6-0 victory over sophomore
Calvin Chou (Livingston, NJ/Livingston). NYU’s lone win came at No. 6 singles as senior
Zubair Ghouse (Muscat, Oman) bested TCNJ’s junior
Andrew Cossaboom (Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland) in the third set tie breaker.
