Ewing, N.J – Senior Breanne Depken (Oradell, NJ/River Dell Regional) led the Lions as they bested Ramapo College on Saturday in Packer Hall to snap a four-game losing streak. TCNJ is now 9-12 overall and 4-6 in the NJAC, while Ramapo drops to 5-16 overall and 0-9 in the conference.
TCNJ had a season high for points in the contest, while improving to 5-2 at home this season. Depken led the Lions with her 12 points, while sophomore center Hillary Klimowicz (Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains Fanwood) added a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds, including 10 defensive boards. She also had six blocks in the contest.
Ramapo’s senior guard Kelly Bartz (Madison, NJ/Madison) led all players with her 17 points, including four buckets from three-point range.
TCNJ led 34-22 at the half and forced 25 turnovers in the contest as they held the Roadrunners to a 23.0% shooting percentage from the floor (14-61).
Ramapo’s head coach Jill Fischman, a graduate of TCNJ, had her return to Packer Hall spoiled by her alma mater as the Lions denied the Roadrunners their first conference win of the season.
TCNJ hosts Marymount next on Monday, February 5 at 6:00 p.m. in Packer Hall.
