TCNJ blanks Mount St. Vincent, 13-0

New York, NY… Coming off of its first loss in more than a year, The College of New Jersey women’s lacrosse team got back in the win column as the Lions cruised past the College of Mount Saint Vincent by the score of 13-0 at Columbia University on Tuesday.

With the win, the fifth-ranked Lions are now 7-1 on the season; while the Dolphins saw their modest two-game win streak snapped putting them at 3-5.

The shutout was the first for the Lions since a 20-0 victory over Drew University on March 28, 1995.

Junior Caitlin Gregory (Winslow, NJ/Eastern) played the entire game between the pipes and finished with four saves for TCNJ.

Offensively, junior Toni-Anne Cavallo (Cedar Grove, NJ/West Essex) led the Lions with four goals and a pair of assists, while Karen Doane (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) had three goals and a two of assists. Rachel Gordon (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) chipped in with two goals and one assist with Kristin Zucconi (Marlton, NJ/Holy Cross) scored twice. Katie Reuther (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and Diane Haddeland (Mahopac, NJ/Mahopac) added to the win with one goal apiece.

TCNJ returns to the field on Thursday, April 12 hosting Elizabethtown College at 7:00 p.m. at Lions’ Stadium.
