Ortiz and Bullis help Lions advance in NCAA's

Boyertown, PA…The College on New Jersey's senior pitcher Blake Ortiz (Swedesboro, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) pitched his second complete game in lifting the Lions' to a 6-1 win over Wilkes University in the NCAA Division III Regionals. TCNJ advances in the winner's bracket and will now face Johns Hopkins University on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. TCNJ is now 33-9, while Wilkes drops to 24-11.

Ortiz worked nine innings and allowed only two hits, while fanning six in picking up the win to improve to 7-1 this season.

Wilkes took a 1-0 lead when junior Chris Mayerski (Swoyersville, PA/Wyoming Valley West) hit a solo homerun to left field in the top of the fourth inning for his eighth homerun of the season.
The Lions took the lead for good when they managed to score five unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Among the highlights for the Lions, senior first baseman Blake Bullis (Delran, NJ/Delran) added one hit, which placed him in a tie for TCNJ's career hit leader with CJ Rockhill (1985-1988) at 235.

Senior outfielder PJ Anzelone (Vernon, NJ/Vernon Township) made his return to the lineup after missing the entire NJAC playoffs with an injury and proceeded to collect a pair of RBI's and a stolen base.

For Wilkes, junior pitcher Brad Woznisky (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) dropped to 3-4 after working seven innings with five unearned runs, while fanning six batters, walking three and hitting two Lions.
